sire : CH. PRIZM'S CUTTING EDGE ( Ziggy )
dam : CH. PRIZM'S FUN AND GAMES ( Vegas )
Both of Moira's parents ( Ziggy and Vegas ) finished their Championships from the
AKC "bred-by-exhibitor class" with ease and they both received an Invitation to the
Eukanuba National Championship show ( but we didn't go ).
Moira is a very special girl to me because she is the only surviving pup in her litter.
She is also the only daughter I ever got from Ziggy or Vegas because of my very
limited breeding program.
Moira arrived on Friday the 13th by cesarean ( just my luck ). The vet delivered to us
3 big, healthy girl pups ( she thought they were boys because of how big and strong
they were ). But in the next days the pups developed an infection and the two prettiest puppiest died .... leaving us Moira, who was on the brink of death herself.
Weighing a whopping 17 ounces at birth, by 12 days of age Moira had slipped all the
way down to 8 oz. The vet gave her about a zero percent chance of living, but I didn't
give up ~ giving her around the clock attention ( tube feedings, anti-biotics & prayer) .
It's a miracle that she pulled through and was spared. And since she was given a longer
" thread of life ", I named her Moira, which means fate or destiny ( from mythology . . . the Moirae determine the length of life ).
Moira is intelligent, has lots of "drive", loves her toys, is a great house dog and loves
to go "bye-bye" and meet new friends - plus she is game for most any activity.
She is obedience trained and so far has her Beginner Novice (BN) title, which she earned
in one weekend (3 tries / 3 Q's ) with decent scores ( 186 / 190 / 195 ). Considering that
she had never been to a dog show ~ nor ever trained on dirt ~ and she had a scatter-brained handler ( me ), she did a great job : ) She also has her AKC PCD title.
She also really likes agility .... but ... she tries to herd me to each obstacle ( pushing me
with her nose from behind ) so, agility was not our bonding sport.
But she does love the Barn Hunt and earned a first and a second place her first two
Novice runs ( with other dogs in her height class ).

" OMG ...... look what I found ....... my very favorite toy that has
been missing for months ! It was next to the 97th gopher hole
that I dug up. I wonder who put it there ? "
" I am so happy ..... I will never let it slip away again. "

Moira is very enthusiastic about stock and I am hoping to get her
back to lessons someday.

Moira had her first and only litter on July 3rd, 2014 ( at 7 years of age ).
I didn't intend to wait so long to breed her , but time got away from me.
Thanks to the expertise of our reproductive vet, we were fortunate to
end up with puppies just 6 months after she developed a uterine infection,
which could have ruined our chance of ever getting puppies from Moira.
Considering Moira was the only offspring of the Vegas & Ziggy cross,
my heart was saddened when she came down with pyometra. Especially
considering we had just lost our only other intact Ziggy kid to a freak
accident at the co-owner's house before he ever sired a litter.
Cost me a small fortune to get these pups, but because her bloodlines
are so special to me ..... it was well worth having a next generation from
her. She was such a fabulous mama and I wish I hadn't waited so long,
but I'm happy to have two lovely kids from her. See Rowdy and Dazzle
